Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the New Bern area. Booking your New Bern vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Island Beach & Racquet Club 104B Oceanfront 2 BR 2 bath Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. text the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
