Our top Atlantic Beach vacation rental home tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your New Bern vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. End Unit Townhome Located in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
