Our top Atlantic Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a budget:
- Summertime is high season in the New Bern area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- To start, have your group select dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Crystal Coast Atlantic Beach. Oceanfront with private beach access has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
