Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose the best vacation rental in the New Bern area:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Beaufort Retreat, with pool, pickle ball, clubhouse, resort amenities has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- If there's a certain New Bern destination you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
