Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply New Bern area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking the perfect New Bern rental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Cozy 3-bedroom townhome\/duplex in gorgeous Club Colony area Atlantic Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
  • If there's a particular New Bern destination you simply love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
