Tricks and tips to get the perfect New Bern rental experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, change your family's New Bern vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select your dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Lazy Haven East-Oceanfront 1\/2 Duplex PET FRIENDLY has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
