Emerald Isle rental home booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular New Bern attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book a perfectrental home:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. AMAZING EMERALD ISLE OCEANFRONT SLEEPS 18 NEAR DINING SHOPPING AQUARIUM! has 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual New Bern attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
