Indian Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Find your perfect rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation home:
- Start by having your family decide on dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Ocean Club G304, Oceanfront Condo in Indian Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
