How to get the best New Bern vacation home experience:

When to reserve a New Bern rental home & When to go:

  • Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Finding the perfect vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Beach Front Condo With Wonderful Ocean View has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
