Getting the best New Bern vacation rental experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • Summertime is high season in Emerald Isle. Reserve your New Bern vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and choosing a perfectvacation home:

  • Choose dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Updated & peaceful beach stay with balcony, deck, open layout, W\/D, & AC has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
