Our top Pine Knoll Shores rental booking tips and tricks:
When to visit Pine Knoll Shores & When to reserve a Pine Knoll Shores rental home:
- Summer time is high season in Pine Knoll Shores. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
How to pick the perfect rental home in the New Bern area:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront, 1st-Floor Condo with Deck, Ocean Views, WiFi, W/D & Shared Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
- If there's an individual New Bern beach you love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
