Tips and Tricks to get the perfect New Bern rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- To get the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself.
