Booking the best vacation home experience:

When to visit Emerald Isle & When to reserve a Emerald Isle rental home:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summertime is high season in the New Bern area. Book your New Bern vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose a perfect New Bern rental home:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sound Of The Sea West 404, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a certain New Bern beach you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
