Our top New Bern vacation rental booking tips:

When to visit Emerald Isle & When to reserve a rental home:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • To find the best value, change your family's New Bern trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the best rental home in Emerald Isle:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Sunbeam, Oceanside House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
