How to book the best New Bern vacation home experience:

When to book a New Bern rental home & When to go:

  • Summer months are high season in the New Bern area. To get the best value, try changing your family's New Bern vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting and booking the bestrental:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Sands Villa 519, Oceanfront Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is right for your family.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
