How to find the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local New Bern area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect New Bern rental home:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Daly Dunes- Indoor pool, Waterslide, Putt Putt, tennis... it's all here! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
