Booking the best New Bern vacation home experience:
When to reserve a New Bern rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Beaufort. Booking your New Bern vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing the perfect rental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. NEW Beaufort NC Home Porches & Waterfront Access! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific New Bern beach you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
