How to find the best Beaufort vacation rental experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Sound Front Home with Dock (Downeast Retreat) has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
