Our top Atlantic Beach rental home tips and tricks:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. ONE OPENING IN JUNE: 6/24/23 TO 7/1/23 Sat to Sat - COME & ENJOY THE BEACH!! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
