How to book the best New Bern vacation home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a New Bern rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking the best New Bern rental:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. BREATHTAKING PANORAMIC BEACHFRONT VIEWS THAT LIVE UP TO ITS NAME . . . CLOUD 9 has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
