Tricks and tips to get the best New Bern vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. Book your New Bern vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beachfront condo in Emerald Isle with All. The. Amenities!! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If not, email the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular New Bern attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
