Booking the best New Bern rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the New Bern area. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and picking the right New Bern rental:

  • Start by having your family select date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Near airport, restaurants, and river, Smart Tvs in all rooms has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is right for your group.
  • If there's a specific New Bern beach you long to visit, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
