Rental booking tips:

When to visit & When to reserve a New Bern rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular New Bern attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply New Bern area visitor guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect vacation home in the New Bern area:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Worth the Wait, Soundside house in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is right for your family.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. message the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
