How to book the best New Bern vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a New Bern rental home & When to go:
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in the New Bern area. Reserve your rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply New Bern area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Atlantic Beach, NC Cape Lookout Peek See and hear the Atlantic Ocean has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain New Bern attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
