Atlantic Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to pick the best vacation home in Atlantic Beach:

  • First, have your group commit to the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Papa Jim's Front Porch-Oceanview Condo, Community Pool, 2 min walk to Beach has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
