Tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Choosing the best rental in the New Bern area:
- First, have your group agree to the best dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Beach Time has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
