About this Property

  • Sleeps 8
  • 3 Bedrooms
  • 4 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 1650 square feet

If you're looking for convenience to the beach, water vistas, direct water access, a hot tub, outdoor shower, and privacy in a well-appointed beach home, Angels Landing is your kind of place! And, if you have a well-behaved and clean four-legged friend who you’d really like to savor your vacation with, we’ll allow him or her, too! (Dogs must be pre-approved by owners; a pet fee applies). Emerald Isle is dog friendly; they’re even allowed on the beach year-round and at nearly all outdoor eateries!

Our well maintained and appreciated bungalow rests on a one-lane, tree-lined street that dead ends at a court overlooking the handsome Bogue Sound. The Sound is also partly visible from the bungalow's front yard and living room. The bungalow driveway is right off the court and has ample private parking.

Beach fans will adore how convenient the sand and warm ocean waters are from Angels Landing. Two different beach access points are a short walk or a 2-min. bicycle ride. The beach is such a short distance that it won’t be a problem to dash home for lunch, supplies, and naps, or to head back to the beach in the evening to witness sunsets that will take your breath away (see our photos for an example). Our south-facing beach has impressive sunsets and features warm waters during an extended May through October/November swim season.

Our bungalow also sits on a canal that leads out to Bogue Sound. And new this year, a huge private dock! Launch your own kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes -- and use the two kayaks that we provide for adult use!

Back on land, our home features a giant 20x25 foot deck that includes a 6-person hot tub. The deck faces south, so it's ideal for sunbathing. Prefer the shade? The deck overlooks a private backyard that is shaded by mature Live Oak trees. Unwind on the dock or appreciate naps on a hammock under the trees. The deck is also ideal when the sun sets. It’s peaceful and the view is spectacular on clear nights if you look up! Suggestion: turn off the lights and look up at the stars from the deck. The lack of light pollution at this part of the island makes for a spectacular nighttime sky.

Under the deck you'll find a sizable, new outdoor shower that overlooks the backyard's enormous Live Oak trees and canal. Shower outdoors and enjoy a impressive view of nature! And out front, you'll find a huge outdoor storage container with some beach chairs, some beach toys, a body board, and a skim board!

Inside, the well-equipped kitchen includes various gadgets that cooks will adore, a full-sized microwave and dishwasher, a Keurig machine, standard coffee maker, toaster, crock pot, and other tools of the trade, along with a collection of spices. The adjacent dining area seats six and overlooks the deck through a huge sliding door. We also provide a gas grille with ample gas and grilling silverware.

The family room has tons seating so for gathering comfortably. Savor conversation, games (we provide many!), the 65-inch QLED HDTV with a subscription to YouTube TV (like cable, but better!) and other streaming services. Appreciate the high-speed, wireless, encrypted internet access powered by a new Wi-Fi 6 router. We provide a peaceful, comfortable desk work space in one of the upstairs bedrooms, should you need to participate in a virtual meeting.

The bungalow offers three nice-sized bedrooms. The main bedroom is on the ground level and features a king bed with a new, high-end hybrid bed and a sizable HDTV. The main bedroom has its own bathroom with a large, step-in shower and a walk-in closet. Upstairs, the two large bedrooms share a Jack & Jill bathroom with a full tub and shower. The first upstairs room has a queen bed, a large HDTV, and a private walk-in closet. The second upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bunkbed, plus another HDTV. There's even a second upstairs walk-in closet adjoining the upstairs bath that has games and other toys that guests are complimentary to enjoy. Bed linens and bath towels are included and all beds will be made when you arrive (who wants to arrive at a vacation home and start making beds, right?!).

Like to discover, shop, or go out to eat? You’ll appreciate Emerald Isle! It’s an ideal beach town with many locally-owned eateries and seafood markets, stores, grocery stores, a movie theater, massage and nail salons, and other fun places to discover. The island offers a fishing pier, tennis courts, playgrounds, a wide bicycle path, and an economical water park that’s ideal for kids. The bridge to the mainland and all it has to offer is only 3 miles from the bungalow. We’ll have recommendations and resources for you to read about and access when you arrive and will provide some other useful info ahead of time, after you book. Our bungalow is ideally located because you get tranquility and peaceful when you want but is also close to the island’s stores and the mainland. The bungalow is a convenient drive from tons of close by towns to discover: Swansboro, Atlantic Beach, Morehead City, and Beaufort!

We want you to enjoy our home as much as we do and thank you in advance for considering the bungalow and taking care of it with the kind of appreciate that we do. We are the kind of hosts who want you to feel at home in our home and who respond quickly to your questions and requests. Our property manager is exceptional and lives right down the street (and we appreciate supporting him because he's retired military), and all of our neighbors are fabulous, kind people. The check-in process and staying in a vacation home shouldn't bring additional anxiety to your life, and we do our darndest to make sure it doesn't!

Our top New Bern vacation rental booking tips:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. To get the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Finding the perfect rental home:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Angels Landing! Walk to beach, hot tub on huge deck, canal, dock, kayaks! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
