Tips to get the optimal New Bern vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the New Bern area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select vacation week and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. White Ibis Retreat - New Rental! Pet Friendly 2 bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a particular New Bern attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
