How to book the best Beaufort rental home experience:

When to book a New Bern rental & When to go:

  • In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in Beaufort. Booking in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the best rental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Mulberry Street Cottage- 5 Blocks to Beaufort Waterfront - 205.00 for 1-2 People has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
