Tips to get the perfect Beaufort vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Book your New Bern rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in the New Bern area:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Mulberry Cottage 5 Blocks to Beaufort Waterfront - 205\/ 1-2, 295 for 3\/4 people has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
