Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Beaufort. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book a perfectvacation home:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Cabin: Lower Winter prices! Snowbirds Welcome! Bring your boat for fall fishing has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Have a wonderful stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
