It is about 30-40 mins. from Emerald Isle or Atlantic Beach. The aquarium is fun to visit, historic downtown New Bern, Tryon Palace, and the striking riverfront. Tips to get the best New Bern vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply New Bern area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your search:

  • Start by having your family decide on date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Sunflower Smile has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Call the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
