Bogue Sound is a tidal body of water. At low tide there is less than a few feet of water at the end of the dock. Guests must bring their own dock lines and bumpers. Due to the tidal nature of the sound, we cannot guarantee there is enough water to accommodate your boat.

We follow our cancellation procedures and do not issue refunds outside of policy. We strongly recommend travel insurance. You will receive information on how to purchase travel insurance after booking.

A valid photo ID and signed vacation rental agreement is required to complete booking.

About the Area

Located in Emerald Isle, this vacation home is on the waterfront. Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf and Raceway and Country Club of the Crystal Coast are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Flatwaters Paddling and North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. Emerald Isle Adventures and The Sweet Spot are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Find your perfect rental:

  • In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • To find the best vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular New Bern attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.

  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
