Finding the best Emerald Isle vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect New Bern rental home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. POOL and beach access steps away from driveway! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a great stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
