Getting the best Beaufort rental home experience:

When to book a New Bern rental home & When to go:

  • Summer is high season in the New Bern area. Reserve your New Bern vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to pick the best rental in Beaufort:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. The Gray Whale Cottage in Beaufort, NC has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
