Our top Beaufort rental home booking tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer time is high season in Beaufort. To get the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the perfect vacation home in the New Bern area:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. New with Water Views, Pet Friendly, 5 minutes from Historic Beaufort Waterfront. has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
