Tips for getting the perfect rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your New Bern rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Select dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Double Queen-Unit 102 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
