New Bern rental booking tips:

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular New Bern attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local New Bern area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Double Queen-Unit 102 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
