Booking the best vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Booking in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Sward Shack - Beautiful waterview has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
