Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:

When to reserve a New Bern rental & When to go:

  • Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing and booking the perfect New Bern rental home:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Carolina Can ~ ???? 3 Story Family Home ???? 1 row back with amazing ocean views ???? has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a specific New Bern destination you crave, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
