Tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and picking your prefectrental:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. The ultimate OCEANFRONT bungalow close to everything has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
