When to go & When to reserve a New Bern rental home:

May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Palm Cottage I At The Grove, Oceanfront House in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
