Come relax at one of the most special condos in New Bern. This corner 2 BR/ 2 BA unit has balconies facing the marina that are prime for calming. The side balcony that faces the fishing pier and kayak launch is a shady spot for dining.

Just 20 mins. from the airport and downtown New Bern, this sailboat and golf community is a jewel. We are a short 1 hr 15 mins from Atlantic Beach and the NC Aquarium. The gorgeous town of Oriental is only 40 mins away.

The space
We created this space to be a relaxing hideaway. It is the kind of place where you will appreciate doing tons of interesting things or just doing nothing. Read a book in the balcony breezes, swim at the pool, walk around historic downtown New Bern, fish, golf, or stay in and work from "home." Everything is better here!

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire condo. They also have access to the Rec Center amenities and need to call them directly to schedule. Access may be limited due to Covid. Community activities include putt putt, tennis, basketball, golf, swimming, gym, kayak & bicycle rental plus great running trails.

Other things to note
There is a modest boat ramp, kayak launch space and fishing pier next to our building. A bigger boat ramp is located just mins. away via a different street in our community. Guests are welcome to use these. If you plan to bring a boat please let us know in advance so we can obtain a Boat Ramp Pass for you. Kayaks, fishing poles and canoes can be rented from Stillwater Kayaks (a 5 min walk).

About the Area

This condo is located in New Bern. Northwest Creek Marina and New Bern Grand Marina are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Croatan National Forest and Union Point Park.

Finding the best New Bern rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the New Bern area. To get the best value, consider changing your family's New Bern trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and picking the bestrental:

  • First and foremost, have your group commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. River's Edge has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a certain New Bern attraction you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
