Booking the best New Bern vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Historic Alston-Charlotte Cottage in Downtown New Bern! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual New Bern beach you simply love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
