Tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your New Bern rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and picking the right New Bern rental home:
- First, have your group agree to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Pet Friendly,Oceanfront duplex, direct access, community pool.Spinnaker's Reach has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
