Tips to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local New Bern area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and picking yourrental home:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Perfect Beach Cottage - Walking Distance to Everything has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a certain New Bern attraction you crave, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
