How to book the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- To get the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Near Oceanfront Condo at Tar Landing Villas - Adjacent to Ft Macon State Park has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- If there's a specific New Bern beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
