Strategies to get the perfect Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to choose the best rental in the New Bern area:
- Start by having your family decide on date ranges and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ocean Front Home in Sea Dreams Community! (Dolphin Dreams) has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific New Bern attraction you crave, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
