Julie:
"This was a ideal home. Great location. Walking distance to the beach. Entirely supplied with so many extras from toiletries, and family games, to cleaning supplies. The beds were so cozy. Clean. And when we needed to communicate with the host, he was readily available for us every time. The photos in the listing are exactly what you get. Recommend reservations, at “Amos Mosquito” right down the street for a meal. And the restaurant, “Southern Salt” was another favorite we discovered. Wonderful stay. Would recommend."
Anna:

The home was supplied with everything we needed, from beach toys and chairs to a high chair, bug spray, kitchen essentials, and everything in between. Michael was marvelous at communicating with us, as well!"

How to find the best New Bern rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. To get the best value, change your family's New Bern vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic.
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Not Your Typical Beach Rental Fully Stocked House has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before reserving the rental. - Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review.
