Tricks and tips to get the perfect Pine Knoll Shores rental experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the New Bern area. Booking your New Bern vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • In the New Bern area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and choosing the best New Bern rental:

  • Begin by choosing vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Blue Bungalow, Soundside House in Pine Knoll Shores in NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a certain New Bern attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
