The guest room on this level is a comfortable King filled with light and then there is also a bathroom close by with a hallway entrance.
The next level offers 3 guest rooms with 2 full bathrooms. Two of these guest rooms are oceanfront; one is the Primary Suite complete with a King bed and private bath while the other Queen guest room shares the hall bath. Tricks and tips to get the best Emerald Isle vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in the New Bern area. To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanview duplex, direct beach access and community pool in Spinnaker’s Reach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
