Tips and Tricks to get the best New Bern rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Oceanside Interior Home,Private Pool,Golf Cart,Beach Access,in Spinnaker's Reach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your group.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
